Where it all started

In 1989, Brad Dunne started PQI from his home on the Gold Coast, building cabinets by night and installing them by day. What began as a small joinery business grew through Brad’s relentless drive and uncompromising eye for detail. 

In the early 1990s, Brad met John Butterfield, whose relationships with global luxury brands opened the door to a new industry. Together, they helped shape some of the earliest luxury retail projects across Australia and New Zealand. John brought the connections and international perspective; Brad brought the meticulous attention to detail and determination to get every part of the job right. 

That standard remains at the heart of PQI today. Brad believed the difference was always in the detail, a philosophy that’s reflected in our PQI 5% – the extra care and effort we bring to every project.
